Q: Where should I store my chocolates?
A. It is recommended to store chocolates in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight, away from strong smelling foods, and at a temperature between 65 (18 C) and 70 degrees F (21 C). It is also recommended to maintain a relative humidity between 50% and 55%. If absolutely necessary, chocolate can be kept in the refrigerator. Once you are going to eat the chocolate, allow it to come to room temperature before unwrapping and indulging in to it.
Q. How can I find the nutritional information for a product?
A. Nutritional information for all products is available upon request.
Q. Are your products nuts free?
A. No, our products contain nuts, and may also have traces of nuts, milk, and peanuts. All of our chocolates also contain soy lecithin
Q. Is there gluten in chocolates?
A. No, there is no gluten in our chocolates.
Q. What are your shipping policies?

Standard Shipping Methods:
Orders are processed within 48 hours. Weather permitting we ship Monday through Friday.
We offer 2 Day, and Next Day shipping options.
Please note that transit times are based on business days, excluding weekends and holidays.
Orders received after 1:00pm (AST) will be processed the next business day.
Please note that 2nd Day Delivery orders placed after 1pm (AST) on Friday will not ship until the following Monday.
Shipping charges are calculated automatically, based on the destination of delivery and is included in the total bill when you checkout online.
Free delivery is available for Halifax Regional Municipality Area for orders above $50.
Weekend Delivery:
We do not currently provide weekend delivery service.
Warm Weather Shipping Methods:
During the warmer months of the year, typically April through October, we restrict shipping options to Next Day (Express) Service to ensure that your order arrives in the best possible condition.
Next Day Air: Next Day Air orders are shipped Monday through Thursday while warm weather shipping policies are in effect. If you order after 1:00pm AST on Thursday your order will be held until the following Monday and shipped for Tuesday delivery.
Shipping costs covers the cost of all insulated packaging to ensure that your gift arrives in perfect condition.
Out-of-Stock and Non-Stock orders will ship as soon as the product becomes available and you will be informed of the delay.
We can not deliver products to P.O. Boxes.
Q. How Much Does Shipping Cost?
A. The cost of shipping for most orders varies from province to province and is determined by the weight of the package. Freight for perishable products also costs more because they must be shipped expedited – second day delivery.
Q. What is your return policy?
A. Any damaged good should be reported to Chocolates By Design within 7 days of receipt for replacements.

Q. What are the methods of acceptable payments?
A. Chocolates By Design – We accept VISA, Mastercard and Cash On Delivery (In Canada only). We also accept Cheques and Money Orders payable to Chocolates By Design.
Q. I want to ship to an address in Canada, but I live in another country. Can I still order?
A. Absolutely! E-mail or fax us your request with all the details and we will take care of the order.
Q. Do you do make custom gift baskets and chocolates?
A. We definitely do. Please have a look at “Our Products” section for a brief description of what we can do, and also have a look at our “Online Shop” for a wide selection of customized chocolates and gift baskets and arrangements. For special designs and request, a lead time of 2 weeks is required after design approval.
Q. Do you ship chocolate outside of Canada?
A. In the mean time, we limit our shipments to within Canada.
Q. How long will my chocolate last?
A. When properly stored, as mentioned above, our chocolates have a 6 to 9 months shelf life.
